Three hikes into my emerging hiking career and I have stumbled upon this truism: A hike in the wild never goes completely according to plan. Whether a forgotten item, forced detour from the intended trail, or required change in itinerary there will be inconveniences. The question before us in those moments is: Will we embrace the spirit of adventure as G.K. Chesterton describes below?

Agreed- when we see each day as both an adventure and a gift from the Lord then we are ready to truly live.
